Description

This course is designed by a team of professionals and practitioners targeted for learners from the general public who are currently caring for elderly loved ones or anyone who is interested in this topic. All videos screened in this course is taken from Genki Kaki, an initiative of the Lien Foundation (www.genkikaki.com).

Module 1 

  • This module will begin with an introduction to the reason behind exploring the eldercare system system in Japan and  two Singaporeans who were on a study trip to Japan to explore the rich diversity of services for senior there. 
  • You will be introduced to the concept of an inclusive society for the elder generation. And you will also explore malls, supermarkets and even shopping streets in Japan  that pay special heed to older customers' needs and about a private care home for people with Dementia with emphasis on well-being, autonomy and freedom.

Module 2 
  • In this module you will be presented with a high-end private composite care facility that provides a diverse range of eldercare services for those who want quality and a dementia nursing home with no-diaper policy and helps residents revert to relieving themselves naturally again. 
  • Finally, you will learn about an innovative day care service where elderly are picked up in black stretch limousines and play mahjong, blackjack, poker and arcade games.

Module 3 
  • In this module, you will learn about a public housing estate which has been equipped with round-the-clock services for senior to enable it's resident to age at home.

Module 4
